Department Head for IT Security Department
Do you want to help develop one of Sweden's most important IT supports? Here you will have the opportunity to lead others, create structure, and develop operations and leaders in a complex and socially important environment.
The Systems Management Unit (SFE) at the FMTIS unit is now looking for a department head responsible for the IT Security Department in Enköping.
About the Systems Management Unit
The Systems Management Unit is responsible for over 50 of the Swedish Armed Forces' IT systems and ensures that these are available, accurate, and secure throughout their lifecycle. The unit is organized into several departments and sections, consisting of approximately 240 employees and a large number of consultants. We manage master data and carry out systems management while working on business development and technical support, making us an important part of the Armed Forces' operational capability.
About the IT Security Department
The IT Security Department is one of SFE's six departments and serves both as specialist support to other parts of the unit and as responsible for several key areas within systems management. The department consists of four sections and works with information security, access control, log analysis, IT security, and infrastructure management.
Main Responsibilities
As the department head, you will work both strategically and operationally, responsible for the organization's assignments, personnel, work environment, and finances. You will lead the department's planning, implementation, follow-up, and development with a focus on both operational results and employee well-being.
The department head for the IT Security Department has four section heads, and together you are responsible for delivering on given assignments and common goals.
You report directly to the head of the Systems Management Unit and are part of the unit's management team, where we work together with a focus on shared responsibility and development.
Since both the department, SFE, and FMTIS are located in several locations, travel within Sweden is required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Academic education in IT or information systems or equivalent education/competence/experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Documented and current managerial and leadership skills
- Experience from IT operations, for example in operations, systems management, or systems development
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is a present and secure leader with the ability to develop both people and operations. You are a straightforward and reliable leader who builds trust and confidence through clear communication and accountability, both within the department and in collaboration with other parts of the organization.
We value leadership characterized by humility, lack of prestige, honesty, and loyalty – both to your department, unit, and the organization's mission.
The work requires good collaboration skills, a development-oriented attitude, and a willingness to handle multiple perspectives simultaneously.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
